It was a very exciting day, as usual. It just happened that there was a run-a-thon sort of activity today at the kids' school so Mr. Destructo got to wear regular clothes instead of the school uniform. The running itself was a whole lot of organized chaos. Car Guy went to cheer him on and ended up getting running along with him for a few laps.
Then he signed the kids out early and we all met at Cookout. Mr. Destructo had a combo with a hamburger, corndog, hush puppies, and a cherry shake. He finished everything except the shake even though he already had a thermos full of mac and cheese with bacon that Car Guy packed him for school lunch.
A while ago, I asked Mr. Destructo if he'd like a cake for his birthday or ice cream or maybe ice cream cake. Penguin Girl had fro-yo for her birthday so I threw that in as an option. Mr. Destructo always has his own ideas and he asked for a birthday pretzel. With a candle in it. So in between classes, I came home and made soft pretzels. Make a wish!
We all had some pretzels fresh from the oven and when it began to get dark, it was time to get ready to trick-or-treat. Thanks to Ye-Ye, Mr. Destructo was dressed as his favorite superhero.
Car Guy got him some Hulk Hands for his birthday and he actually wanted to be Spiderman with Hulk Hands, but Penguin Girl pointed out that he would not be able to hold his basket. If you can't hold the basket, you can't collect candy and that was clearly unacceptable so the Hulk Hands stayed at home.
