Sometimes Nice

Mr. Destructo is a nice boy.  Sometimes.  Yesterday, he had a nice moment.  We went to the big library in the next town.  One feature of the big library which is not available at the small library in our town is that there is a collection of stamps and an ink pad sitting on the circulation desk in the children's area.  At the small library, you may ask for a stamp to the hand.  Most kids like getting a stamp on their hand.  Mr. Destructo doesn't like getting his hand dirty in that particular way.  Instead, he likes to stamp the images onto a bit of scrap paper.  I got him a piece of paper from the little stack next to the stamps and he went about his business.  Then, another little boy sidled up to peer at the stamps.  Once upon a time, a move like that would provoke Mr. Destructo's territorial nature and cause him to instantly grab all the available stamps so that the other child could not possibly use them.  This time, Mr. Destructo got up on tip toes so he could reach the little pile of scrap paper, got a sheet, and deposited it in front of the little boy.  Then he selected a stamp and placed that on top of the paper.

Nice sharing, Mr. Destructo!
